Special Response Team Competition Results

SEPTEMBER 15, 2008

Nine teams from across Ohio competed in Friday's eighth annual Ohio Tactical Competition sponsored by the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio (CCNO).

CCNO's special response team was the overall winner in the five-course event, entitling them to represent the State of Ohio in national competition events to be held in Florida.

In addition, CCNO Corrections Supervisor Jason Wisecup won the top sniper award for the second year in a row.  He won the honor by two-tenths of a second over the competition.

Dennis Sullivan, Director of Security and Operations, said it was an outstanding accomplishment for Supervisor Wisecup to receive the award not once but twice in back to back competitions.  In addition, he had high praise for Commander Craig Eiden who has successfully coordinated the competition events for the past eight years with a different overall winner each and every year.

Placing second overall was the Findlay Police Department followed by the CSX Rapid Response in third place.

In individual events, the Northwest Ohio Regional SWAT team from Williams County took first in the obstacle course.  CCNO took first place in the precision firearms event.  The Findlay Police Department placed first in the rapid shooting event and the room clearing event.

Also competing in the events were Fort Knox, Medina County, Web Enforcement Bureau with two teams, Delaware County Tactical Unit and the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections.

The event began with a flag raising ceremony followed by the obstacle course relay event located behind CCNO grounds.  The day concluded at the Bryan Police Range with firearms competition and awards presentations.
