Inmate Medical Information

NO OFFENDER SHALL BE DENIED MEDICAL CARE

OR MEDICATION BASED UPON HIS/HER INABILITY TO PAY.

Medical Services

Medical care is provided by Correct Care Solutions, a contract provider.  Medical care will be given for medical problems which may occur during confinement.  Medical staff are on duty 24 hours a day to handle medical problems.  Medical staff will advise all newly admitted offenders of the procedures to follow when requesting medical services.

CCNO has a medical co-payment policy.  Offenders who request medical services must pay a portion of the cost of those services, as they would outside the jail.  The fee for each service is set in advance and is the same for each offender.  Not all medical services have a co-payment.  Offenders will be given a receipt for medical costs.  Offenders without money will not be denied medical care, but must repay the amount owed from the first money they receive.  There is no charge for the initial medical screening when being booked into CCNO, life threatening emergencies, follow-up visits ordered by medical staff, in-house mental health services and drug and alcohol programs.

Offenders must fill out an Offender Health Service Request to be seen by the medical staff, with no more than two complaints per request, except in cases of emergency. The offender may fill out as many request forms as needed to have all their problems addressed.

Medications

There is a nominal fee for each prescription given at CCNO. There will be no charges for refills on specific prescriptions that are given without interruption for a specific chronic medical condition.

Dental Care

Dental appointments are made by the medical staff.  Offenders with greatest need, as determined by the medical staff will receive priority consideration for dental appointments.  The medical staff will arrange for dental examinations and treatment when the dentist decides they are necessary for an offender's good health.  There is a co-payment fee to see the dentist.

Eye Care

CCNO does not provide eyeglasses or repair glasses.  If when committed to CCNO, the offender was not wearing prescription eyewear, a family member/friend may bring the eyewear in for security staff to approve.  If the offender needs contact solution, a family member/friend must bring in an unopened bottle of contact solution for the offender during normal lobby hours.
